The AMHyA Executive Committee works with the AMHA Youth Committee to help plan activities and events for AMHA Youth on a nationwide scale. In addition to this, the Youth Executive Committee is also responsible for executing fundraising and procuring donations for planned activities. Above all, council members serve their club and association by setting examples of sportsmanship, community, and unity within AMHA.
If you would like to hold a leadership position as a member of the AMHyA Executive Committee:
Step 1 - Review the AMHyA Leadership Manual.
Step 2 - We will post more information as it comes in from the Youth Committee.
AMHyA PRESIDENT
Hayden Menzies
Hi, my name is Hayden Menzies I am from Myakka City, Florida and I am the 2023 AMHyA President. I have been showing in AMHA for 3 years and have been showing in ASPC for 5 years. For me the best part of showing horses is the people that you meet from around the country and the relationships that you build with not only the people but with the animals as well. Outside of showing horses, I run a cattle ranch and do barrel racing. In the future I plan on going into the equine nutrition industry
AMHyA VICE PRESIDENT

My name is Braeden Barnett I am 19 years old I live in Jayess, Mississippi and have been an active AMHA member since 2008. I’m the AMHyA Vice President for this year. The miniature horse has been my heart and passion for 16 years now, aside from showing miniatures in AMHA, AMHR, 4-H and my local club I am also an active member in my home church as praise singer, Sign language team leader and volunteer children’s church worker. My plans are to continue showing in hopes of one day becoming a trainer.
AMHyA SECRETARY

Isabella Seng
Hi, my name is Isabella Seng. I am a sophomore from Sarasota, Florida, and am looking forward to serving as this year’s AMHyA Secretary. I have been involved with miniature horses for ten years and Shetland ponies for 3 years. My favorite things about showing are spending time with my horse show family and making friends with youth from across the country. In addition to showing minis and ponies, I am the 2023 Sarasota County FL Teen Miss Agriculture USA and am learning more about beef breeding and other branches of agriculture.

AMHyA TREASURER

Kyla Petkanics
My name is Kyla Petkanics, but I usually go by K.P! I am 18 years old and live in Central Florida. I just graduated high school in May and I am going to the College of Central Florida. I have been showing miniature horses and attended the world show for the past 4 years. I currently live at Winning Streak Miniatures and have been mentored there for the past few years. I have gotten the opportunity to learn about maintaining a breeding program and about the daily care/maintenance of miniature horses. My passion for minis has grown very quickly and this year I was finally able to purchase my first mini of my own. Aside from showing miniatures and Shetlands, I also show dairy goats and compete at the national level. I am so grateful to have the opportunity of serving as the treasurer on the AMHyA executive committee and can't wait to see what this year brings!

AMHyA EASTERN VICE PRESIDENT

Jordan Henrich
Hi, my name is Jordan Henrich. I am from Ocala, Florida. I am pleased to be the Eastern Vice President for the 2023 AMHyA committee. A hobby that I like apart from showing horses is playing the trumpet. I have been playing the trumpet for over a year and I really enjoy learning new things to play. Another thing I love is going to horse shows. I like going to horse shows because I can play with some of my friends that live all over the nation. The other reason is because I find lots of classes fun to participate in or even watch. I like to watch performance classes. My favorite classes to participate in are roadster, obstacle, driving, and hunter. The main reason I love these classes so much is because I have a horse that can do the stuff and makes it fun. My horse's name is Cooper. I like to spend time with Cooper, he is a loveable horse, and I could not have asked for anything better.
